Reader Guide

Nathan has created reader guides to accompany books that explore complex or sensitive life experiences. These guides are designed specifically for adults, offering support in navigating difficult questions and opening the door to meaningful conversations when young readers connect with a topic.

Each guide breaks down key elements of the story, including important characters, their roles, and underlying metaphors, helping adults better understand and support the child’s experience of the book. They also include practical suggestions, such as where pausing may be helpful to give children the time and space to reflect, share their thoughts, and express their feelings.

These guides are intended to be used as a supportive tool only. The reading experience itself remains very much child-led, allowing young readers to engage with the story in their own way and at their own pace.
